There has been a great deal of excitement due to Fox announcing that they will air the FA Cup match between Manchester United and West Ham on their network outlet. This has been the trend that the started on last year showing some of the marquee match ups of the Premier League on Sundays.
This Saturday will be the first time they do such a thing with the FA Cup. Unfortunately for many soccer fans throughout the country, they will not be able to see it as their local Fox affiliate does not plan to preempt their programming.
Miami is not the exception to the rule as they have not shown any of the Premier League matches from 2012 live. They have shown those matches on tape delay later on in the day after the late news.
I spoke to a person in charge of programming and as of 3pm on Wednesday there is still nothing confirmed as of yet. What I was told was that there will be an official decision made sometime on Thursday. Right now what I have been told is that WSVN will "most likely" show the match at midnight Sunday.
As of right now the timeslots in question are already filled with pre-paid programming. The channel's policy is to not preempt to if those spots are already sold.
