With the end of spring break everyone is back to their regular routine, but that doesn’t mean Miami life stops. As with most big cities, there’s always something going on and this upcoming spring weekend, Miami has two events that are pretty special.
The first spring weekend event combines various interests that friends in Miami would enjoy if they are curious about gluten free products and would like to support celiac awareness; but also, if they are Miami Heat fans.
That’s right, basketball in combination with an important topic for individuals interested in the celiac cause. The event takes place on Saturday April 6, 2013, from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
For more information on this April weekend event visit the Miami Gluten Free Expo-Community Celebration and Gluten Free & Celiac Awareness Night with NBA Champions, the Miami Heat website.
The second Miami April event is even more ideal for a spring weekend and it too involves two festivals in one: The First Annual Miami River Rally alongside and as an opener to the 17th Annual Miami Riverday Festival. Celebrate the Miami River and think paddle races, free boat rides, live music and plenty of food along with great friends and fun.
At the Miami River Rally paddle boarders, kayakers, surf skis and outrigger canoes will run the river. People can participate, support their friends or merely enjoy the races, along with the Miami Riverday Festival entertainment activities. The two Miami spring weekend events also take place on Saturday April 6, 2013, from 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
For more information visit The Miami River Rally website or their Facebook event page. For the 17th Annual Miami Riverday Festival visit the Miami River Commission website.
Spring weekends are great because the weather is not too hot yet, not too rainy and perfect for hopping different Miami events. Enjoying basketball for the sports fans is a must either way; so, why not do it while supporting an important cause such as celiac awareness. And for the outdoor activity lovers the Miami River celebration events are just perfect.
It’s a fun spring weekend in Miami for everyone, with plenty of time on Sunday to recuperate before the beginning of the work week.
