The Miami based rapper J.Peguero spent Labor Day weekend participating in the Jason Taylor Foundation’s 9th Annual “Cool Gear For The School Year” charity event in Miami, FL. The event offered $300 to sixty underprivileged children in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties to shop for back-to-school clothes. The RedStar Entertainment recording artist spent an hour as a personal shopper for one of the chosen kids as they surfed the racks at Old Navy for their new attire.
This summer, J. Peguero released his new single “Good Time” off of his “A Tale of Two Cities” project. The song became one of the top five most added into rotation on urban radio and put J. Peguero in the same category as artists like Future, DJ Khaled, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Jay Sean, Juicy J, Schoolboy Q, Ludacris, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, R. Kelly and many more.
The Jason Taylor Foundation’s “Cool Gear For The School Year” has provided over $150,000 in clothing for kids since its inaugural year in 2005. Taylor, a former Miami Dolphins defensive end and linebacker, recruits old teammates, Dolphins cheerleaders, and local recording artists each year to participate in the event where each is assigned to assist one child in their shopping.
“I was very excited to be a part of this year’s Jason Taylor Foundation Cool Gear for the School Year event,” said J. Peguero. “It’s our responsibility to do whatever we can to impact the less fortunate within our community. Giving is something that I am very familiar with, as many have given to me. I truly enjoy paying it forward!”
