Miami announces spring practices, ACC honors two Hurricanes

It hasn’t even been two months since the Miami Hurricanes lost to Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl but the 2014 season is already around the corner.

Miami announced its spring practice schedule Monday morning with the first practice scheduled for March 1. The schedule consists of 14 practices and three scrimmages, with practices closed to the public but scrimmages open to the fans.

The first scrimmage will be on March 29 at noon at the Greentree practice facility with the second scheduled for April 4 at 6 PM at Cobb Stadium.

The school also announced the date of Miami’s spring game, which will take place on April 12 at 6 PM at Sun Life Stadium.

The ACC also honored two Hurricanes on Monday, announcing that kicker Matt Goudis and defensive tackle Justin Renfrow were named to the All-ACC Academic Team.

Goudis is a sophomore majoring in accounting and Renfrow is a graduate student in Miami’s liberal arts program. Undergraduates must have a 3.0 GPA while graduate student must have a 3.5 GPA to be eligible for the All-ACC Academic Team.
