The story of a little girl who wants to go home, a scarecrow who wants brains, a tin man who wants a heart, and a lion who wants courage--and the discovery that everything we want is already inside of us all--The Wizard of Oz is one of the most widely seen and most loved films ever made. Freshly restored for its 70th anniversary last year, the opportunity to enjoy this classic piece of cinematic history on the big screen is rare, and will only be at The State for one screening.
The Modesto Film Society is a non-profit, community-based organization, dedicated to preserving America's rich cinematic legacy. MFS was founded in 2005 and has over 200 active members. Members, in addition to receiving advance notification of upcoming screenings, receive discounted admission to the films that MFS presents. The Wizard of Oz screens at 3 pm ONLY on Sunday, March 21st. The State Theatre is located in downtown Modesto, at 1307 J Street. Purchase tickets at the box office or online. Tickets are $8, or $5 for MFS members.
