Meyer named outstanding wrestler as Mount finishes fourth

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN - Eric Meyer won the 141-pound division in the Mid-States Conference Tournament and was named the outstanding wrestler as the College of Mount St. Joseph finished fourth with 95.5 points.

Trine was the conference tournament with 150 points, followed by host Wabash (132.5), Olivet (129), the Mount and Manchester (68.5). Bryan Massong was named conference's Wrestler of the Year, while MSJ assistant  Brennan Ryan was named co-Assistant Coach of the Year.

Cody Stewart (125) won his weight class by with a 13-7, while Tommy Fehring (157) also earned a weight class championship.

Mike Willig (fifth place, 133), Cory Disbennett (eighth place, 157), Justin Meineke (seventh place, 165), Matt Collins (sixth place, 165), Tim Pope (third place, 165) and Sean Brooks (second place, 197) all competed for the Lions.

Mount St. Joseph will compete in the Heartland Conference duals at Manchester College on Feb. 12.
