Thursday, the Tijuana Mexico team defeated the Perth Metro Central Australia team after the 10-run rule came in effect and Mexico won 12-0. After the end of the 4th inning, if one LLWS team is leading by more than 10 points then that team wins and the game ends. This was the first day of games at the 2013 Little League World Series (LLWS) of baseball in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. All Little League roads lead to Williamsport every year. And Mexico has a powerhouse team this year.
The Mexico team received a tweet from the San Diego Padres after it was announced that Mexico would play at the LLWS in Williamsport. The tweet read:
“Congratulations to the Little League team from Tijuana who will be representing Mexico at the Little League World Series next month!”

The LLWS games can be dramatic, heart breaking, and an absolute joy for the teams that win. Making it to Williamsport is a hard earned dream for most of the 11 – 12 year olds (and some 13-year-olds depending on their birthday).
Even when they lose at the LLWS games, they are able to return to their suite-like surroundings at The Grove and they get to live like rock stars for about ten days. Amenities include: a large swimming pool, video games, a room full of ping pong tables, and new friends who have come from all over the world. No parents were allowed! The annual LLWS event brings tens of thousands of families, fans, and players from around the world to watch 10 day of games. The final LLWS championship game will be played Sunday, August 25.
The LLWS starts with sixteen teams; eight United States (US) and eight international teams. It’s double elimination and each team gets to play three games at the LLWS with the final game being a consolation game. The final championship game will consist of one US team and one International team.
