Mexico and the U.S. have become the ninth and 10th teams to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014.

The two teams qualified yesterday after semi-final victories at the CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

Mexico defeated Costa Rica 3-1 and the U.S. blanked Trinidad and Tobago 6-0.

One more team qualifies from the CONCACAF region tomorrow when Costa Rica plays Trinidad and Tobago for third place.

Ten of the 16 spots for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 have been filled.

After the third spot team is known tomorrow, the last five places will be filled by Africa (two), Oceania (one) and South America (two) over the next week. The official draw for the competition takes place March 1.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 runs from Aug. 5-24 in Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal and Moncton.

It will be the seventh edition of the biennial competition, with host Canada preparing for its sixth appearance.
