A longtime UCSF favorite, with some of the best Mexican food on Irving. [review]

Gordo’s (1239 9th Ave., near Lincoln)
Not bad, but hard to see why you would go there when Carmelina’s and L’Avenida are much closer.

La Fonda (712 Irving, between 7th and 8th)
The latest taqueria to open in the neighborhood, La Fonda does an excellent job serving Mexican favorites at reasonable prices. [review]
