Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) is slated to meet WBO welterweight titleholder Timothy Bradley on October 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
A four-division champion, Marquez last exited the squared circle in December after brutally knocking Manny Pacquiao onto Queer Street at 2:59 of the sixth round.
Conversely, the nearly 30-year-old Bradley (30-0-0-1, 12 KOs) most recently vacated the ring on March 16 with a narrow unanimous decision victory over Ruslan Provodnikov.
Compensating for feathery fists, Bradley evoked memories of a young Evander Holyfield against Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KOs) and it’s now difficult to imagine that Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs) could have ever finished “Desert Storm” in June 2012.
Bradley and Marquez are elite pugilists and their inevitably exciting clash won’t disappoint fans.
