Mexican Consulate to hold next “Consulate on Wheels at Casa Hidalgo

The Consulate General of Mexico is located at 4507 San Jacinto Street not far from the Wheeler stop of the Metro rail station in midtown. However, because the location can be difficult to reach during regular office hours, the Consulate offers remote services from time to time throughout the region, called the “Consulate on Wheels” (Consulado Sobre Ruedas).

In its press release No 36, the Mexican Consulate of Houston announced that its next “Consulate on Wheels” will be held from Tuesday June 10 to Friday June 13 at the offices of Casa Hidalgo from 9:00 to 2:00 PM. Mexican citizens may apply for passports and related services during these hours with a prior appointment except for emergencies by calling 1- 877- MEXITEL (639 – 4835) or by visiting the website at

All official forms and instructions are in Spanish, and those interested should review the official guidelines. Generally, Citizens must complete form OP-05, birth certificate, photo id, marriage license (when relevant), 2 passport style photos. For minors (under age 18) both parents must be present or one parent with the other parent's completed authorization (form OP-7).

Casa Hidalgo is a service of the Free State of Hidalgo located in the office building at 2646 South Loop Freeway, Suite 230 between Hearth Drive and South Main. Parking is free and visitors may access the building from the front or back entrance. Casa Hidalgo works to facilitate migration of citizens moving to the Houston area by coordinating free legal, psychological, and business services.
