The Mexican ambassador to the United States, Arturo Sarukhan, recently did an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, during which, he criticized American lawmakers around the country who have proposed crackdowns on illegal immigration which he says is “poisoning” relations between the United States and Mexico.
Sarukhan specifically lashed out at Georgia’s HB87 which, if passed, would require state and local law enforcement to investigate the immigration status of suspects they have reason to believe are in the country illegally.
Sarukhan said: “We are concerned that some of this local or state legislation could lead down a slippery slope of racial profiling.”
However, under Mexican law, local police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities and report the arrests of illegal aliens.
Also, illegal immigration is a felony in Mexico, punishable by two years in prison. Anyone caught in Mexico after being deported once, can be sent to prison for 10 years.
Of course, hypocrisy from Mexico on the issue of illegal immigration is nothing new, but one statement uttered by Sarukhan was particularly egregious, and the ambassador knows better.
Sarukhan claimed: “For someone who profoundly disagrees with the urban myth that they are coming here to ‘drop babies’ and take and abuse health and education services, those numbers reflect one powerful truth -- immigrants come in search of a job. If there are not jobs to be had, they don’t come. Period.”
Now for reality…
Last month, Los Angeles Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich released data from the Department of Public Social Services which showed that in November 2010, $53 million in welfare benefits ($22 million CalWORKs and $31 million in Food Stamps) were issued to illegal aliens for their U.S.-born children in Los Angeles County.
The record amount was an increase of almost $3 million from November 2009, and represents 22 percent of all CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances in L.A. county.
In 2009, CalWORKs and Food Stamp benefits given to illegal aliens totaled almost $570 million. The total amount issued to illegal aliens cost in 2010, is well over $600 million.
Supervisor Antonovich told reporters: “When you add this to $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year -- not including the hundreds of millions of dollars for education.”
In August 2009, Antonovich made public the-then staggering amount which the taxpayers spent on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. In June 2009 alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007.
$26 million of that total came in the form of Food Stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks. That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.
These continuously rising amounts explain why not only L.A. County, but the entire state of California is now in financial ruin.
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, then pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for all Americans.
What Ambassador Sarukhan may not understand is that the American people are becoming not only incredibly well-informed, but fed-up with being forced to financially support illegal aliens…especially when 1 out of 5 of us cannot find gainful employment.

Another crappy Mexican opening his ugly pie hole.
The U.S. has taken the pressure off the Mexican government.
What do you expect these Mexican douche bags to say?
They are Mexicans with corrupt blood running through and through.
Yea, Cal is down the tubes but lets not let this happen to the rest of America.
Is Sarukhan Spanish for "I sure got a lot of nerve?"
"Arturo" Sarukhan--What an odd name for a "Mexican" LOL--In November 2010, he was presented with the prestigious B’nai B’rith Excellence in Diplomacy Award.
Apicture is worth a thousand words, here's his:

.....says it all folks, it says it all.
No racism here folks . Move along.
You are right! Just Anti-American bigotry!
When dhe Mexican ambassador to the United States, Arturo Sarukhan, says illegal aliens burdening taxpayers is “urban myth”, did he also commit the Mexican government to re-imburse American taxpayers for all expenses incurred?
He should have made the offer since, according to him, there would be NO monies owed!
Perhaps the United States should offer to deduct from foreign aid any expenses incurred by American citizens for illegal aliens from Mexico. According to Sarukhan, this would also have no negative impact on Mexico.
I would totally support this. Lets cut all of the services that aid illegal immigrants since it is not a burden and see how loud they scream (err protest)
Many Spanish phrases are the opposite of English, for example "La Raza Cosmica" literally translates to The Race Cosmic, in English we say it as The Cosmic Race.
Obviously this idiot it translating from Spanish to English literally, what he really means is the opposite of what he says.
Thus Mexico is poising the relationship, enforcement will reduce racial profiling, illegals DO come here to drop babies, and illegal aliens are not immigrants.
As long as the Mexican government believes illegal aliens taking benefits that costs American taxpayers billion is a myth, I'm sure they won't mind us passing legislation banning any benefits to illegal aliens. After all, that never happens, right? Screw Mexico!
The poor quality of the journalist´s piece should be a matter of concern to us all, since it is plagues with fallacies and misconceptions. While I am no defender of illegal immigration, Mexican laws are not as described in Mr Gibson's article. Immigration laws in Mexico were dramatically changed, for the better, a couple of years ago. Moreover, it is highly hypocritical to point at the cost of services provided to those living in this country without papers, without mentioning that the Social Security of our country and countless municipalities and state treasuries around the country receive billions of dollars every year, from the taxes that those people pay in the US economy and are never able to benefit from.
For every penny an illegal invader pays in tax, he or she will take out tenfold to a hundredfold in benefits. $Billions go to the invaders claiming unearned tax credits. The illegal invaders also send $billions of feloniously stolen paychecks to their homelands!
Is this because the majority of the Mexican people in America are using the system? LOL, Illegal immigration is nothing new. Their is no excuse for the Mexican Government. They should and could have a better country then we have, lol since technically they have been a country longer then we have. The REASON WHY THEY AREN'T AT OUR LEVEL IS BECAUSE THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT BECAUSE EVERY CARTEL IN MEXICO PAYS "OFF" the Mexican Government. How much longer must Americans Sacrifice HARD EARNED MONEY? How much longer Should the American People Accept home invasions by Mexican people. How much longer should the American people feel like equal peers when illegals are around, after all we cant take the law into are own hands...RIGHT? I mean because if we did that we would go to jail, while their is still illegals crossing the border everyday and yet our government is still worried about foreign affairs. It would be nice for world peace but we have been in debt, and a major reason we are in debt is because are currency is given to foreign countries/affairs. plus every illegal mexican that is employed under the table by either mexican americans or other American citizens that feel bad for thee illegals dont realize that they are affecting are countries currency/financial system. Why because the majority of the illegals are sending money back to their families in mexico.
they are gonna squeel like pigs as we herd them back across, anchor babies in tow
If that happens I will be the happiest American in the United States.
I see recent Mexicans driving Corvettes in California.
Think they stole an Americans jobs? I do!
It was what, last year, that officials of MEXICAN border states and towns were complaining to us about deportations of illegal aliens because these illegal aliens were putting strains on THEIR cities and states. Why hypocrisy by the ambassador. And since when are our state and local laws HIS business? If he's that worried about the citizens of his country who are heie illegally, the obvious solution is for him to repatriate them--at Mexico's expense.
The Constitution for the United States of America:
Art IV Sec 4 "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion;"
Just how many million people does Mexico need to encourage to cross our borders illegally to qualify as an invasion? How many grains of sand make a pile?
Okay, so what's the problem?

Sorry, I forgot to enter my name. I don't do anonymous.

Of course what all you idiots are ignoring is the positive economic impact and taxes paid by all those Mexican workers. But that requires a bit too much brain work on your parts. Always looking at the costs, never the benefits or the tremendous labor demand that causes them to risk life and limb to come here. Bleeding idiots all of you.
Illegal invaders bless America with an estimated million rapes and child molestations! What, no cheers? Well, how about the tens of thousands of murders and vehicular homocides brought to American citizens courtesy of illegal invaders? How about the felony theft of over 7 million jobs by illegal invaders according to PEW Hispanic Center? That barely scratches the surface of thge pain and suffering these illegal invaders have brought to American citizens. Deport every last one to their homelands and let them deal with these bottom-feeding lawbreakers.
In the United States you jerk quality comes before corrupt
money. Or at least it used to be that way.
We did fine without all these stinking illegal aliens here.
what positive economic? They undercut wages and are paid in cash. Welfare, schools, ER hospital rooms big deal they pay taxes on the food they eat I guess they deserve a medal
The only taxes an illegal alien pays in America is local sales taxes when they buy this and that. If they have committed identity theft or created or attained other false documents and working by them then maybe they are paying Social Security and so on but it adds to their overall list of crimes.
Entering America illegally is, well, illegal.
Working in America without a valid Social Security number is illegal.
Using false government documents is illegal.
Identity theft is illegal too.
So what part of illegal is not being understood?
Oh my, I couldn't possible stand being called a racial profiler.
I better send my bank account number and any assets I have immediately to the ambassador. I'm sure illegal aliens, whoops, I mean undocumented citizens, need my money more than I do.
Oh, and perhaps I should send my children to China so they don't take any resources from future generations of undocumented citizens, whoops, I mean rightful citizens of the New North Mexico.
It is time to abolish free trade with Mexico since many people claim that is what destroyed their agribusiness and put their people out of work. It is our responosibility to help put their people back to work on Mexican farms.
Screw you all! I'm glad the U.S. is going down in flames by a bunch of squealing pigs blaming other people for their own stupidity. If violent words is what you want violent words is what I'll give. Go cry about hard working people taking jobs from your lazy ass. I can't wait to see you all screw yourselves with the Tea Party.
Got something to say?
