Mets sign righty Brandon Lyon

The New York Mets have made official a one-year deal with right handed pitcher Brandon Lyon. Lyon, 33, started last season with the Houston Astros before a July 20 trade to Toronto.

The 6-1, 200-pound Lyon hails from Salt Lake City, UT, combined to appear in 67 games out of the bullpen, going 4-2 with a 3.10 ERA (21 earned runs/61.0 innings) and one safe. He was able to strike out better than a batter per-inning on the season sitting down 63 in 61.0 innings.

Over 11 MLB seasons with Toronto, Boston, Arizona, Detroit and Houston, Lyon owns a 40-45 record, 79 saves and a 4.12 ERA (296 earned runs/647.0 innings) in 535 games, 21 starts. Brandon owns two 20-save seasons: 26 with Arizona and 20 with Houston in 2010.
