Metrorail and Tri-Rail… Are They Worth It?

How many of you have been living here for at least five years and have never used public transportation?

How many of you would use the Metrorail if it took you to places you actually needed and wanted to get to like the Airport and South Beach?

Also if we wanted to do this right and not use the car at all, most of us would need to take the bus to get to the Metrorail and most likely another bus to get to our final destination…a trip could cost you about $8.00 a day.  This could end up costing you more than using your car depending on the driving distance.

If you want to use Tri-Rail to take a day trip to Ft. Lauderdale for example, that would cost about $6.00 (not including whatever it cost you to get to the Tri-Rail).

But are they worth it?

From a living greener stand point…this is totally a “yes” (and an even bigger “yes” if more people other than just Ms. Burski used the public transport to get to her Canasta game).

We have to realize that living greener is not easy for if it were, most of us would be that way.  An effort needs to be made if you believe the trade off is worth it. Living greener however, is still a choice.

After just receiving a jury duty summons for next month, I will finally take mass transit (in spite of people thinking I’m  a poor loser) but I will rattle my car keys to show that I am doing this by choice as I thumb my nose at all the drivers stuck in traffic.
