Metroplex Animal Coalition's "Real Men Neuter" awareness campaign kicks off today with the launch of a brand new ad on the back of almost 200 Dallas Area Rapid Transit buses. The campaign's message is simple - "Spay or Neuter Your Pets. It Saves Lives. And it's the Law". A new voice mail line, 972-498-8800, has been set up as part of the campaign.  It will provide information, in both English and Spanish, about free and low-cost spay/neuter programs in the Metroplex.

"I have wanted to do this ad for 10 years since I began leading the MAC organization. It is finally a reality thanks to the generous outpouring of volunteer time, support, and funding" said Elaine Munch, President of MAC.

The photo shoot, which took place on May 25th, brought together a talented group of animal lovers that included The Clutts Agency, who cast two of the models - Greg Ingram and Kevin Youngar - and provided hair and make-up, model and trainer Sydney Bradford, photographer Steve Foxall, and designer Molly DeVoss.  "Pancho", a Chihuahua adopted from Dallas Animal Services, "Mary Jane", a pit bull adopted from Metroplex Mutts, and a tiny kitten now available for adoption from Dog & Kitty City served as the canine and feline models.  A handful of dedicated volunteers also donated their time and efforts. Funding for the project was provided by The Rees-Jones Foundation.

The Metroplex Animal Coalition is a nonprofit alliance of more than 50 local animal welfare organizations.  MAC's mission is to work together to save as many dog and cat lives as possible by focusing on spay/neuter.  Since 2002, MAC has provided more than 12,000 spay and neuter surgeries at no cost to low-income pet owners.
