Early Friday morning a massive meteor appeared falling across the sky before it struck the Ural Mountain city of Chelyabinsk, injuring more than 980 people.
According to the Washington Post "Regional Health Minister Marina Mokvicheva in Chelyabinsk said 985 people sought medical help for injuries and 43 were hospitalized."
Video footage of the meteor was filmed approximately 300 miles north of it's actual location, just to get an idea of how large it was.
In the area where the meteor hit searches located a circular hole in the ice, 15 to 20 feet across.
The meteor was reportedly traveling from southeast to northwest before it hit, and although there were no casualties approximately 985 people sought medical help after the blast and 43 were hospitalized.
Sources say another meteor is expected to come close to hitting the earth later tonight.
