This is the month audiences will finally get the chance to see Metallica's movie project the band has had in the works seemingly forever.. Entitled "Metallica:Through the Never," the band has been mum about many of the details, but the movie will combine a narrative plot line with footage of the band in concert. It will generally follow the adventure of Metallica roadie Trip (played by Dane Dehaan) as he is sent on a surreal journey during Metallica's stage set. The plot will be interwoven with footage of Metallica in concert that was filmed last August.
The film will make its world premiere next Monday, September 9 at the Toronto Film Festival, and be released nationwide in IMAX theaters on September 27 and in normal theaters in 3D a week later on October 4th.
Trivia note: Metallica played a surprise set at this year's Orion Music and More Festival, under the stage name Dehaan, named after the actor playing Trip in the film.
