On Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, Metallica is back at the Academy, the metal band will be performing live at the 56th annual GRAMMY Awards. As announced on Jan 7, Metallica's enact will highlight the 25th Anniversary of the first hard rock band to ever perform at the GRAMMY Awards show. The band will be joined by the GRAMMY Cultural Ambassador to China, “this will be one of the most unique performances of our career as we will be joined by renowned concert pianist Lang Lang”
Furthermore, the soundtrack of the first Metallica 3D movie, "Through The Never" has one nod for Best Recording Package. The film reflects the very best of the band's musical career, while the story-line portrays Trip (Dane Dehaan), a young roadie sent on a mission, the venture entails Metallica's live performance of their biggest hits onstage in Vancouver in 2012. The film was released through the band's own record label, Blackened Recordings, and is set to be out in a range of formats including DVD, Blue Ray, 3D Blue Ray and On Demand on Jan. 28. "Through The Never" is a recap of some of the band's most influential tracks of all time.
Besides Metallica, this year's GRAMMY Awards Best Recording Package nominees are Geneseo - “Automatic Music Can Be Fun”, Reckless Kelly - “Long Night Moon”, Jay Z - “Magna Carta... Holy Grail” and David Bowie - “The Next Day”.
The 56th annual GRAMMY Awards will take place on Jan. 28, 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The event will be broadcast live on CBS.
