Metal Music is Still Hanging On...

Metal music did at one time hold the attention of millions of music fans, but as everyone knows how the seasons change so does the music taste of the audience. Which is why most metal bands have adjusted and tweaked their sound to have that modern edge, like Slipknot or Korn.

Local Long Island band Forge The Alliance is trying to do the same thing in hopes of breaking into one of the hardest music markets that are currently out there. This band is comprised of 5 members who all have something to bring to the table from the lyrics to instrumentals and even the business mind set, which is rare in most bands.

In an effort to really push their sound and get exposure this band has been constantly touring; playing at local places around Long Island from the Port Jefferson area to NYC. All that exposure and the growing fan base has landed this band a spot to open for some record label bands, such as Bury Your Dead & OTEP at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale on March 6th.

Forge The Alliance

Forge The Alliance is also currently in the process of finishing up their 6-Song EP due out at the start of July 2010. They have 3 of the 6 songs on their MySpace page for fans to listen to in an effort to get them pumped up for the EP.

I rate this band and their music a 3 out of 5 Music Stars for their DIY approach, touring efforts and musical ability. This band still needs to grow in their vocals and lyrics but that is something I hope to see in the other 3 songs when they are released.

Song to Check Out Now: "Remember"
