Konami announced on April 25 that it plans to release an update for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes that will unlock content that was original exclusive to either PlayStation or Xbox consoles.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes features the "Déja-Vu Mission" for the PlayStation version and the "Jamais-Vu Mission" for the Xbox version. The missions are unlocked after the player found all nine "XOF patches" during the main game.
"Déja-Vu Mission" features classic Snake infiltrating Camp Omega which has been designed to feel like Shadow Mosses Island from Metal Gear Solid. "Jamais-Vu Mission" features Raiden investigating an alien presence at Camp Omega.
The new update will be released on May 1 and it will make both missions available for all versions of the game. Konami hopes that making the content available to all would add to games replay value.
The announcement was well received by the gaming community and Metal Gear fans. Conrad Zimmerman of Destructoid stated in jest, "So, if you were bummed out about not getting to play both of the little bonus things, you'll be able to next month. And if you bought copies on multiple platforms just to make sure you wouldn't miss out on anything, hopefully this news doesn't sting too much."
Ryan Winslett of Gaming Blend further added, "It looks like everyone can play nice now, because Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that it’s making the whole shebang available across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One."
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was the tenth game in the official canonical and was the prologue for The Phantom Pain. After the events of Peace Walker; Snake (a.k.a. Big Boss) has to infiltrate Camp Omega to rescue Chico and Paz.
