Hideo Kojima has revealed his preference in regards to what version of the upcoming “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” fans should be playing. According to a report from Crave Online on Jan. 19, the game director talked a little bit about the release of the PS4 and his new title.

He mentioned that Sony’s next-generation system will be released next month in Japan while “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” should ship in the following month. Although the video game is also coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360, Hideo Kojima prefers fans to play the PS4 version. You can check out some screenshots of the open-world stealth-based action-adventure title in the slideshow to the left of this article and his comments below:

At the end of next month PS4, the long awaited next generation console will be released in Japan. Ground Zeroes will also be released at the end of the month after that. Ground Zeroes will also be launch on current generation consoles, but I want you to play on PS4 if possible.

Although “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” is also being developed for the Xbox One, Hideo Kojima did not mention that particular version. This may be due to Microsoft not having an official release date for the new console in Japan.

The latest installment from the “Metal Gear Solid” series is expected to launch in Japan on March 20th, exactly two days after the North American release date. The software product is the first game to be released using the Fox Engine, which is designed for cross-generation support with the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
