David Hayter has further commented on the controversy surrounding the voice acting of the main character in the upcoming multiplatform game, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." According to a report from Gaming Bolt on Aug. 3, the actor revealed that he is still not in the upcoming title despite the latest round of rumors. As a result, he did not have to sign any non-disclosure agreement and can freely talk about the project.

He went on to state that he is disappointed that fans are believing that he will be included in "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." He believes that this sentiment actually put less pressure on the publisher and developer to bring him back. Hideo Kojima, the game's director, made the decision to go in another direction instead of bringing back David Hayter as the voice behind Snake.

Instead, Kiefer Sutherland became the new voice of the main character with the release of "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes." In an interview with Nerd Reactor, David Hayter clarified that he does not hold any grudges against the Hollywood actor. In fact, he actually respects Kiefer Sutherland quite a bit.

The aforementioned prologue came out on March 18. In addition to the new voice, the software product gave fans a look at the new gameplay and story elements that will be fully on display in "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." Despite multiple criticisms surround the lack of contents, the prologue still managed to sell very well.

The mainline release is going to be much bigger, however. Kojima Productions added dynamic day-night cycle and weather systems in addition to increasing the play area. Furthermore, the development team also implemented the Mother Base feature as players can recruit and build their home base based on items and soldiers taken from the battlefield. You can find a screen featuring Mother Base from the official Konami Digital Entertainment Facebook page near the top of this article.
