Additional details have been revealed in regards to one of the new characters being introduced in the upcoming multiplatform video game, “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” According to a report by the unofficial “Metal Gear Solid” website on Aug. 29, Jay Tavare recently disclosed that he is the voice actor behind the virtual individual named Code Talker.
The character was previously introduced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo trailer for “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” The video described Code Talker as someone who has been “deprived from his homeland.” According to Jay Tavare, the character will be able to speak in both the English and Navajo languages. You can check out a screen of the character, along with several other shots, in the slideshow near the top of this article and the voice actor’s comments below (courtesy of the unofficial “Metal Gear Solid” website):
We are still working on the game. In fact I am back in the studio next month but almost there. Code Talker is an awesome character, he speaks Navajo and English and the challenge for me was to get the Dine language correct and I had to get help from my Navajo Elders.
Even with the additions of Code Talker and other new characters, the story of “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” should most likely focus on reoccurring characters such as Big Boss (the main playable protagonist) and Ocelot.
The sequel is slated to come out on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One systems although no official release date has been announced. Kojima Productions, the same studio that worked on the prior installments of the series, is the developer responsible for “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” You can pre-order the next-generation consoles from Amazon in the following links: PS4 and Xbox One
