‘Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes’ and ‘Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’ compared (Photos)

Hideo Kojima has provided a short comparison on Jan. 17 in regards to the two upcoming “Metal Gear” video games, “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” and “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.” In an interview with IGN, the director at Kojima Productions called “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance” a spin-off title while referring to “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” as a conventional mainstream release. You can check out some screens from both titles in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Hideo Kojima below (courtesy of IGN):

Revengeance is a spin-off along with the mainstream release that is Ground Zeroes. For the spin-off, we wanted to have variety, and I wanted to expand our reach to gamers who like hack-and-slash and hope to get accepted there as well. So that was our main goal as you can play with a few things in a spin-off, but Ground Zeroes will be conventional.

“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance” is currently being developed by Platinum Games with Kojima Productions helping out on the production of the game’s story and cut scenes. The action video game is slated to come out for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on Feb. 19. You can pre-order the product in the following link: “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance”

“Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” is being fully developed by Kojima Productions. The stealth-based action-adventure title will be released for the same two aforementioned consoles.
