Hideo Kojima has provided some commentary in regards to video games and technology. In a statement from his Twitter page of April 2, the game director of the upcoming “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” revealed the gaming medium is tied directly to technology. As a result, developers can’t stop relying on technological advances. You can check out some screens from the latest video game in the “Metal Gear Solid” series in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Hideo Kojima below:

Game is a media that depends on technology and it advances but does not degenerates. Thus once you step out from ladder of technology, you never able to step on the ladder again. Even in a short period of time not paying attention, the era steps beyond. It'll endanger you if you get caught up with only the horizontal advancement.

“Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” is currently in development at Kojima Productions, the same studio responsible for the earlier entries in the series. The sequel is being created on the Fox Engine, which is a game engine that utilizes new technology to create highly-detailed graphics.

Konami Digital Entertainment will be publishing “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. A release date has not yet been announced.
