'Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance' demo dated, new trailer released

Konami announced the release of "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" demo on Monday and those eager to try out Raiden's action-focused sidestory won't have to wait long. Both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will receive it next week.

The "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" demo will be released via Xbox LIVE and Playstation Network on Jan. 22 and feature the first chapter of the third-person action game.

A seven-minute trailer was also released via GameSpot featuring an extensive cut-scene of Raiden's encounter with the police before facing even more dangerous adversaries.

"Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" is being developed by Platinum Games with their trademark fast-paced action style under the guidance of Kojima Productions. It will be released to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Feb. 19, 2013. The game is set four years after the events in "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" and is a self-contained story. The anti-hero faces off against another group of cyborgs working for a paramilitary corporation at odds with his employer.
