The fans of “Dancing With the Stars” surely thought that Meryl Davis was dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy after the sexy performances on the reality show. And then there were rumors that plagued the couple about what happens off the stage as the two allegedly hung out after practice. However, viewers shouldn't be so hasty to decide that the couple is actually dating. According to Meryl Davis on “The Wendy Williams Show" Thursday, the two stars are not dating and there is nothing going on outside of the win.
“We are not dating,” said Meryl Davis. She responded to the idea of the couple hooking up after the show. “I think we like to keep the personal life personal.” The couple explained that looking like there was a romance helped them on the dance floor.
While the “Dancing With the Stars” winners seemed grateful for the experience, the two also seemed very much attached. They looked like they were a couple even though Meryl Davis denied it. During most of the interview Meryl and Maksim held each other’s hand. They also repeatedly looked at each other during answering questions posed by Wendy Williams. The time on the show was nothing short of a boyfriend and girlfriend scenario when watching their body language.
Talking about the win, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is very happy that he returned to the dance show to win this season. Taking up most of the interview, the star reminded everyone that this was his first win and he was proud to take the trophy home to his mom to show her. Showing the trophy to the audience, the mirror ball was so heavy that Meryl Davis couldn't hold it.
While Meyrl Davis didn't dish on her future, it appears that Maksim has plans. The professional dancer is interested in returning to the reality television show, but he might be coming back as a judge instead of a performer. There have been no official decisions yet, but what happens next behind the judges table will be decided before the next season. The change up would be a welcome accompaniment to the ballroom and fans definitely would love to see him score his fellow dancing colleagues.
