Merger of Baltimore area truck firms creates regional powerhouse

The Commercial Division of Norris Automotive Group, the largest provider of commercial, heavy-duty truck parts, service and sales in the Baltimore/D.C. area, has acquired Chesapeake Truck, which has specialized in the sales and service of medium and heavy-duty trucks for over 40 years. Chesapeake Truck is a high-volume Ford truck dealer in the Baltimore area, providing new and used Ford truck sales and service in 13 locations.

Andrew Franklin, CEO of the Norris Automotive Group, which has more than 400 employees and over $200 million in revenue, states, “The addition of Chesapeake Truck to the Norris portfolio is exciting. The employee base at Chesapeake is incredibly talented, especially in the sales and service of heavy trucks. We plan on increasing staffing, expanding service hours and making significant investments in the infrastructure to make sure our turnaround time and customer service is second to none.”

David Kleeman, president of Chesapeake Truck, will join the Norris Automotive Group in an executive capacity.

The Norris commercial division maintains over $7 million in parts inventory, 45 parts delivery vehicles servicing the mid-Atlantic region with multiple daily deliveries, three dedicated commercial service facilities in Baltimore, Rosedale and Washington D.C.,12 mobile service crews that operate 24/7, and the largest commercial vehicle sales team in the region. On the retail side, Norris Automotive Group also has an extensive inventory of new and used cars by Acura, Ford, Honda, and Nissan.
