Mercury is stationing in 3° Pisces in conjunction with Neptune this week and will retrograde February 6-28. If Mercury sits right on a planet he will have more influence. Many people will want to travel especially to a beach or on a cruise. But be prepared, the retrograde could cause confusion, mixed signals or changes of plans. Neptune in Pisces will be like a double whammy. I’m not saying don’t go. But it may be a trip unlike what you had planned. Enjoy the adventure. Communications of all kinds will be affected. Given that retrograde Mercury is a good time for research, mysteries may be solved now. Answers will come to you in unusual ways. If you have been trying to find a long lost relative or document, your intuition may lead you to it. You may find something you weren’t even looking for or get unexpected news. Clandestine affairs and illegal activities maybe uncovered at this time with embarrassing consequences. I just heard a news story about rampant computer hacking going on at the Sochi Olympics this week. This is typical of stationing/retrograde Mercury, even more so with Neptune involved, so be very careful with your smartphones and ipads. Don’t turn them on except when necessary. Change your passwords often and watch out who you share information with. You may get an offer, idea, opportunity or marriage proposal now. Don’t accept or choose at this time and don’t sign anything. Take a few weeks to think things over and wait until Mercury goes direct. The picture could change at any time. During this transit people who are more prone to alcohol and drug abuse will slip off the wagon especially water sign folks. People are more moody, mentally off balance, bored or they just want to escape reality. The untimely death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman this week due to a heroin overdose is a good example even though he had apparently relapsed some time ago. The upside of Mercury and Neptune is that you could be very creative. Most people will have fun with this transit. Imagination and inspiration are stimulated. Write stories or poetry. Do some painting or go to a museum, movie or concert. Get out some old favorite records or tapes. Get out your guitar and start playing again. I myself have been practicing my flute again after many years. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed playing. Have a good time with this Mercury retrograde while it lasts. Reminder: The Market Basket in Franklin Lakes, Bergen County has a nice selection of soups and other hearty entrees to warm you up on a cold winter’s night. Stop in and treat yourself!
