Staller Center for the Arts at Stony Brook University is bringing an eclectic mix of performers and artists to their stage this season. And this Saturday night, Staller hosts the long-awaited dance extravaganza The Merchants of Bollywood.
The Merchants of Bollywood hails from Mumbai, India and brings original music and choreography straight out of the popular "Bollywood" movie heritage. The tale is inspired by the life of Vaibhavi Bhavi Merchant, the musical’s choreographer, and based on the true story of Bollywood’s Merchant family dynasty and the history of the Hindi film industry. Expect authentic classical Indian music and dance interwoven with Western disco, hip-hop, and jazz. In other words, expect the unexpected!
The Merchants of Bollywood is scheduled for October 30th at 8 PM with Main Stage seating priced at $42.00.

The Merchants of Bollywood production is sure to be a colorful and memorable event and your Long Island Events Examiner will be among the media in attendance, so watch for our review and photographs. (A Staller Center performance by Katharine McPhee, on Sunday, November 7 will be reviewed for my 'American Idol' Examiner column.)
