New York City’s Fashion Week: eight exciting days full of couture and ready-to-wear fashions from some of the world’s hottest and most talented designers. During Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week, February 7-14, 2013, over 80 designers will feature their 2013 Fall Collections to more than 100,000 guests at Lincoln Center in New York City. Millions of online viewers will also be able to see the fashions.
A few highlights include emerging designers such as: ICB by Prabal Gurung, Ruffian, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela and Brandon Sun.
Seasoned designers include: Michael Kors, Tracey Reese, Nanette Lepore, Anna Sui, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera and Diane Von Furstenberg just to name a few.
A brief description of several new designers' previous collections:
ICB by Prabal Gurung – Gurung’s first online runway launch of ICB’s 2013 spring line included a contemporary, colorful collection of orange minis, leopard and geometric print layered dresses, two-piece garments in hues of cobalt blue, mustard capes and sweaters and fur-trimmed blazers and jackets.
Many will remember Jennifer Lawrence’s striking black Prabal Garung gown at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards (see slideshow for view of dress).
Monika Chiang – Chic sportswear separates including skinny jeans, leather shorts, pants and skirts, tuxedo style and backless dresses, leather and suede leggings.
Ruffian’s spring 2013 collection included an eclectic mix of chic separates with stripes and floral prints, short sleeve and cuffed blazers, ruffled minis, fitted bodices, and minis with box pleats.
