Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami: New 2014 Models Introductions

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami E-Class
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami E-Class

Undoubtedly, Mercedes-Benz reigns as THE most consistent pack leader in the mass market, luxury class segment of the automobiles automobile industry–hands down.

For a century and a decade now, the brand has set benchmarks in the arenas of style, safety and technology, by which all others follow. And it’s new designs for 2014 demonstrates not only the ability to sustain, but rise.

On display at a recent luncheon in Miami, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, were the newest models to debut for 2014: An all new S-Class, the brand’s new introductory level model–the CLA-Class Coupe, and the refreshed and renewed E-Class Cabriolet covered in Fashion Week drag for the occasion….

2014 S-Class Highlights

Consistently outselling Audi’s A8 and BMW’s 7-series, the all new S-Class takes driving to a whole new level with amazing technological and safety advances such as cameras that judge the placement of the vehicle in its lane to keep it there whether the road curves or remains straight. Magic Body Control recognizes potholes in the distance and adjusts the suspension to keep a bottle or glass of wine (left on the rooftop) from falling. Rather than any lightbulbs whatsoever, the 2014 S-Class uses uses energy saving LED lights for full illumination inside and out. Come winter, you’ll rejoice in knowing that every area where your hands are subject to touch(even the interior door panels, center console, etc.) is heated. Say goodbye to the old school tree-fresheners you purchase at the car wash and hello to your choice of fragrances for the air filters. And don’t we all just love a hot stone massage while driving home after a long day? Well, we can if we decide to drive home in the new 2014 S-Class when it goes on sale later this year–with no major price increase expected.

2014 E-Class Highlights

A redesigned face lift for the E350 and E550 includes new daytime running lights with a four head design look, new interior air vents of metal, a richer dashboard that’s soft to the touch, standard collision prevention assist, around view cameras, new rims and more…

2014 CLA-Class Coupe Highlights
Borrowing lines and looks from its $72K CLS-Class Coupe sibling, the $29,900 CLA-Class Coupe is the all new entry level vehicle for the Mercedes-Benz brand designed to usher in a whole new audience. Created for the young in age and the young at heart, the E-Class platform built CLA comes with a diamond grill, great aerodynamic elements, rich interior fabrics, aircraft inspired metal vents, a panoramic sunroof (the only in its class) and more. Best of all, its sport tuned suspension was added to make the CLA one heck of a drive for the price. Then again, you can always up the ante at the $47,450 CLA45 AMG level.

In addition to all there was to learn of model year 2014′s soon to come lineup, pricelessly enlightening was the introduction of the German word, “jain.” According to Heiko Schmidt, New Generation Compact Cars (NGCC) Product Manager (including CLA-Class, C-Class, SLK and Smart), “jain” (pronounced ya-n) is used when the answer is not exactly yes and not exactly no. Parents, you’ve gotta love this one!
