A frightened dog named Lille is recovering in the care of Paws Patrol Pet Rescue after the female poodle mix was found with a rubber band embedded in and around her muzzle.

According to CBS News:

Paws Patrol Pet Rescue says the rubber band was wrapped around the dog's nose and "dug all the way through to her sinus cavity."

Donors of the rescue stepped forward to help pay for an extensive surgery to remove the rubber band. The rubber band had been on long enough to cut down to her sinuses. Needless to say, it was extremely painful for the small dog. Infection had already begun to set in.

Friends of Lille can follow her recovery on the Paws Patrol Facebook Page. Facebook users can also see adorable pictures of the recovering pooch curled up with her new best friend, a bulldog.

Lille is currently in foster care. The media has not been told whether a suspect has been found at this time.
