MeowZa! Cat Boutique seeks cat-loving volunteers

If you have two hours each week that you can spend helping cats, then MeowZa! Cat Boutique is looking for you!

Operated by the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, MeowZa! showcases cats that are up for adoption and carries a delightful array of cat accessories and gifts (and a few dog items as well).

Alexis Wagner, the boutique manager, is looking for volunteers who can work two hours per week on a set schedule. The volunteers will help take care of the cats in the store, help with the adoption process, and wait on store customers.

According to Alexis, the most important thing that volunteers do is "They help socialize the cats. The extra time they spend can help even shy cats come out of their shells." By playing with and interacting with the cats, she says, "Volunteers can make a huge difference in a cat's life. Socialized cats are much more likely to get adopted."

MeowZa! is located inside the Dayton Mall, next to Sears. The store is open normal mall hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

If you would like to volunteer your help, call Caitlin at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 937-268-PETS. Or stop by MeowZa! to shop for gifts and adopt a cat or two!
