Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will serve a healthy and delicious array of fresh California produce and sustainable seafood to the fitness-conscious stars attending the 2012 Governors Ball, the dinner immediately following the Academy Awards on Feb. 26.
“With fantastic California ingredients, a few luxuries, and some favorite comfort foods, there will truly be something for everyone," Puck, 62, said in a press release. This is the 18th consecutive year Puck will create the menu for the annual Governors Ball.
Wolfgang, who specializes in California, French and fusion cuisine, will create over 50 dishes that will be featured on the Governors Ball menu this year, including signature items such:
- Smoked salmon Oscars;
- Lobster tacos with tomato and pickled Shallots;
- Beet salad with pistachio butter, burrata and citrus balsamic;
- Chicken pot pie with shaved black truffles;
- Chinois lamb chops with mint-cilantro vinaigrette;
- Braised short ribs;
- Crispy sea bass in puff pastry;
- Gold-dusted chocolate Oscars.
Last year's menu, which Puck also created, included a dazzling array of scrumptious appetizers, such as Kobe burgers, black truffle pizza and spicy tuna tartare stuffed miso cones.
Desserts included lemon cheesecake, raspberry cremieux, cassis gelee and 24-karat chocolate Oscars.
Some 1,500 Hollywood celebrities and film executives are expected to attend the Governors Ball this year.
The 2012 Academy Awards takes place at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles Feb. 26.
