While Caroline Manzo is no longer on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," viewers will actually hear her name brought up in tonight's season six premiere episode. In an interview with E! News, posted on Friday, July 11, her sister, Dina Manzo, who has returned to the show after several seasons away, revealed that she was asked about Caroline while filming the premiere episode.
The mention of Caroline's name resulted in Dina rolling her eyes. While some would assume that the eye roll is a reflection of how Dina feels about her sister, that's not true. Dina explained that she did an eye roll because she was tired of being asked about her sister. Dina said that the one thing she didn't want to discuss on the show was Caroline.
Dina explained that people shouldn't be asking her about Caroline since they know that she won't talk about what happened between them. She also said that not talking about Caroline was a matter of respect since she herself didn't appreciate being talked about on the show when she wasn't on it.
When the E! News reporter tried to get more information out of Dina by asking her if things are different between her and Caroline now, she was shut down. Dina simply replied that she's done talking about it.
Dina and Caroline starred on the show together for the first two seasons. After the second season, Dina left but Caroline stayed on. Caroline made the decision to leave the show after the fifth season in order to star in her own spin-off "Manzo'd With Children," which will also feature her sister-in-law and former housewife Jacqueline Laurita.
While they used to be close, Dina and Caroline have been estranged for several years, the cause of which neither has ever revealed. The departures of Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita is the only reason why Dina Manzo agreed to come back to "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." She told Us Weekly in late June that she will never do a reality TV show with family ever again.
