If a corner office is a status symbol for corporate America, perhaps a Corner Gallery is also a choice spot to regularly showcase some of Mendocino County’s finest artists. Corner Gallery is an artists’ cooperative that shows and sells work by its members and select guest artists.
Art Center Ukiah is next door to the Corner Gallery. It is a place for classes, community meetings, and special events. Together, they are 201 & 203 South Main St. in downtown Ukiah, diagonally across the street from the Mendocino County Courthouse. A doorway between the two galleries makes it easy to stroll back and forth.
Both galleries participate in the monthly First Fridays Ukiah!, which invites visitors to stroll around downtown between 5-8 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. It's time to enjoy special shows, music, and light refreshments. Since you can’t stroll very far in Mendocino County without a chance to meet artists of every stripe, this is also a great opportunity to meet accomplished artists and artisans from throughout Mendocino County and beyond.
Learn more about the extensive art scene in the region from the Arts Council of Mendocino County. They are your guide for the full range of fine and performing arts that characterize Mendocino County and express its ebullient spirit.
Let Visit Mendocino tell you all the things there are to see and do in Mendocino County. They can also help you find a place to stay that suits your budget.
If you’re focused on the city of Ukiah for this trip, the Ukiah Chamber is a clever resource for things to do, both the usual and the UNusual.

A great article - I'm ready to visit, especially with that wedding kimono.
You're right Jay, it certainly sounds like they have the art scene cornered.
Very cool! That quilt is absolutely beautiful. Like Neala, it makes me want to see the wedding kimono, too.
It's astounding the number of first-rate artists living in the area. I've seen quite a few.
The opening crowd loved the show!
But....come on up & see it - it'll be up all month. The art is even easier to see without the crowds!!! Mac Magruder's 8ft ceramic Samuri,"Leftovers Nightmare", stops everyone who thought they were just walking down the sidewalk.
What a great variety of exhibits.
Looks like a cool place to experience the Arts and culture in the area.
