Marvel Comics and Feld Entertainment have announced plans for a new arena tour called Marvel Universe Live! You heard it right Coliseum goers. Spider-man, Captain America, Black Widow, the Hulk and many more Super Heroes are set to descend on Uniondale. They’ll need all the help they can get to do battle with villains like Loki, Red Skull, Dr. Aldrich Killian and a bunch of Chitauri Warriors.

This is dangerous work but someone has to do it.

What is Marvel Universe Live?

Marvel Universe is based on characters from Marvel Comics. Feld Entertainment, the producer of Marvel Universe Live!, issued a press release on Jan. 28, 2014 which describes the action as being “high caliber” and “one of the most electrifying battles between good and evil ever conceived…”

Wow, that’s a pretty potent description. But it’s not just about brandishing wickedly wonderful weapons and waging an imaginary war against evildoers. There is a story line.

A sign of things to come

According to an ign.com article published Jan. 29, 2014, “Marvel Universe LIVE! Reveals Plot,” by Joshua Yehl, “The story is framed around the battle over the Cosmic Cube…”

In case you didn’t know, the “Cosmic Cube” is the origin of definitive Super Hero power. Of course, they don’t just grow on trees. But that’s where the plot thickens. The good guys encounter all sorts of scoundrels in their quest for the cube.

What, where and when?

Marvel Universe Live! will be at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale for seven shows, Aug. 21-24, 2014. Prices and times vary so check with the Coliseum.
