Actress Mena Suvari was spotted Sunday afternoon in downtown Montreal. Local celebrity blog, HollywoodPQ.com posted this picture of the actress out and about in workout clothes listening to her Ipod. The American Beauty actress had been in town since July 14th filming a movie for The Movie Network. The film, Never Surrender will be shown on The Movie Network, Movie Central and Super Écran sometime in 2011.
Starring with Suvari is Canadian actor Joseph Mesiano. A one time residant of Montreal and a graduate of Concordia Universty, Mesiano told 7 Jours that he is happy to be back in Canada and praised the skill and professionalism of the Montreal film crew. The bilingual actor garned a lot attention last year in his role as Les Colocs' musician Mike Sawatzky in the Quebec made film, Dédé à travers les brumes. The film was one of the best Quebec films of the year and faired well at the Jutra Awards back in March.
Mesiano confessed that he was intimidated meeting Suvari for the first time but said that she is, "an extraorinary women and a generous actor." According to Mesiano this made the intimate scenes in the film more comfortable; the two actors play lovers in the film.
Look for Suvari and Mesiano on the streets of Montreal until August 11th and look out for Never Surrender next year.
