Men’s fashion redefined online

It’s not shocking that much of the shopping done today is online, and also not surprising that a majority of these shoppers are guys. While surfing the internet for the best deals and latest releases, fashion remains one of the most sought-after purchases. According to research from Rakuten LinkShare about the online spending habits of guys, fashion still accounts for around 83% of the spending.

Value and convenience always play a major role in the decision process. 42 percent of the guys shopping online actually claim that they are motivated to make a purchase when they are offered free shipping or a discount. The difficulty often comes when guys must determine their styles and 36 percent refer to family and friends for confirmation on their fashion choices, while 21 percent put their trust into social media for the final confirmation.

There’s an App launching soon that has the power to help guys evolve their looks with free recommendations. Introducing Dash Hudson. Though not officially launched yet, I was able to explore the App and the inspiration behind the concept with the CEO, Thomas Rankin. Like many guys today, I am constantly amazed with the new fashions each season and understand that a wardrobe is a constant work-in-progress.

Thomas Rankin and Tomek Niewiarowski conceived Dash Hudson after finally determining that the best products and recommendations for guys were scattered across the Internet. Frustrated by the time spent scouring blogs and retailers for style advice, and because of the cluttered nature of existing e-commerce shopping experiences, Dash Hudson was born.

Dash Hudson is launching with the support of high profile advisors, including Daniel Burka (Design Partner at Google Ventures), Erik Lautier (EVP and Chief Digital Officer at bebe), and David Alston (former CMO at Radian6, a Salesforce Company).

Guys have become just as style-conscious as women, but they don’t want to spend the time shopping, and often looking for validation before making purchase decisions,” said Thomas Rankin, CEO of Dash Hudson. “We eliminate the uncertainty that guys face when trying to figure out what looks good on them, and make it incredibly easy to purchase what they need, at a great price.”

Dash Hudson is menswear evolved. Customers get free recommendations, explore the best products, and find what they want, all in one place. It’s the first-mobile exclusive club for menswear and how young men of ambition get what they need. Dash Hudson’s community of Style Editors recommends products and creates style advice based on a customer’s profile and needs. In the end, customers can then easily purchase the items they want directly through the mobile application.

With the official launch occurring soon, Dash Hudson is looking to provide this niche service to the ever-growing number of guys online looking for their next fashion purchase. So, get ready to sign-on, sign-up and find the “new look” that fits your style and budget.

With so many Apps being launched currently, it will be interesting to see if Dash Hudson has created the right formula for long-term success. If passion and determination mean anything, the team behind the project will certainly go far.
