'Men in Black 3:' official synopsis released

Sony Pictures has released an official synopsis for "Men in Black 3," which is scheduled for release May 25th.  The synopsis reads as follows:

In "Men in Black™ 3," Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back... in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him -- secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Although some snarkers have steadfastly maintained that no one wants to see this film, your friendly neighborhood Fanboys Examiner recently saw the trailer with a theatrical audience that clearly loved it.

The threequel, directed by "MIB" and "MIIB" director Barry Sonnenfeld, is being released in 3D.  Etan Coen ("Tropic Thunder") is the credited writer, although the studio has admitted that David Koepp did a production polish.  Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return to their original roles.    Jemaine Clement, Michael Stuhlbarg and Emma Thompson also star.

Some of the movie takes place in the sixties.  Josh Brolin also stars as young Agent K, a revelation that got a hoot out of the audience that saw the trailer.  Bill Hader plays Andy Warhol.
