Memphis man arrested after his dog found dead and frozen to ground

Zangerio Dogan, 28, was arrested at his sister's Memphis home at the 2700 block of Smith Haven on Tuesday after authorities found his dog dead and frozen to the ground in the backyard.

The dog which was described as a blue pit bull was undernourished; his body hardly more than skin and bones. A frozen bowl of water was found next to him. The dog had no shelter or food.

According to the Commercial Appeal.com, Dogan stated he thought his sister was caring and feeding his dog. The homeowner said she thought Dogan had taken his dog home weeks ago.

Dogan has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and was being held in jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.

Rest in peace poor dog. We are sorry your owner let you down.
