Sept. 13 is the anniversary of the Beatles' 1964 concert at the Civic Center in Baltimore, Md. Peggy Barry, who attended the show, sent us her recollections:
I have my program and the song list! My Uncle John was Paul's bodyguard while he was here. That we did not know until they left the city for Philly (I think) the next day if I recall.I stood outside the Holiday Inn and screamed for hours but they were inside between shows eating and doing interviews.Tickets cost $3.75 and they played for half an hour. The opening acts were The Bill Black Combo, The Exciters, Clarence 'Frogman' Henry, and Jackie DeShannon. The set list was: "Twist and Shout," "You Can't Do That," "All My Loving," "She Loves You,""Things We Said Today," "Roll Over Beethoven," "Can't Buy Me Love," "If I Fell," "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Boys," "A Hard Day's Night" and "Long Tall Sally."
