One of the many, many tributes to Alan Logan after he died Feb. 13 came from Brandon Mindy Caswell.

She posted these heartfelt comments on Alan’s Facebook wall the day he passed away:

July 9, 1961 – February 13, 2014

My Uncle Alan: I will never forget you . . . I can still hear you tell me, ‘Kid, you give the best hugs!’ Sending you a hug up to heaven. You always brought a smile to everyone you met! Your love on Earth will live on through our hearts! I hate saying good-bye, so I will say . . . until we meet again! Now you have God's angels as your backup singers! I will hear your voice through the music of your favorite songs! I LOVE YOU SOO MUCH!! C-you later-gater!

The loving words from the 33-year-old Caswell typified the affection that family and friends had for Alan, who had been suffering from cancer for the past couple of years. He was 52.

Memorial services for Alan will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Northridge United Methodist Church, 9650 Reseda Blvd.

Alan, a Canoga Park resident, worked as the head locksmith at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena and was one of the most popular and well-liked bowlers in the L.A. area.

He was an animated and joyful presence on his bowling teams at now-defunct AMF Rocket Lanes and AMF Woodlake Lanes, which included his last team in which he bowled with Tim Tschappat, Chris Ohmstede and Lillian Matson.

Alan married Lillian, who was his life partner and longtime bowling teammate, on Nov. 12, 2013, or 11-12-13..
