The MUSIC: DOUBLE your pleasure with LIVE music. There will be live music at two stages, one at the TOP of the hill, and one at the BOTTOM of the hill. Just be aware that people also will be all over as pick up musicians, which is half the fun of this festival by history. Bring your spare change for tip cups.

Feel like giving back? You can always write a check. Volunteering is your very best bet. As of this writing, the Festival is still taking volunteers. See the line up, who is who .... celebs and just folks sign on to pull your beer or answer your questions, pick up trash or sell you a shirt. This and other event volunteering is a great way to meet people and connect to the processes that make OKC great. There are piles of like opportunities perfect for seasoned or walk on volunteers.

Where you are headed: Oklahoma City's Paseo Arts District is cleanly and uniquely unlike any other area of the city. This preserved historic artists enclave set into a simple winding hilly street ( unusual in itself) shows traditional mission style adobe buildings, each with it's own little story and offerings.

Well maintained, these days find a local to explain to you the journey of this area from a 1930's artist enclave to a hippie hideout to loud and quiet political movements and unique hatching of opportunity for green space and urban gardening, enriching arts and renovations and living ecologically sound lives. More than meets the eye this Paseo Arts District.

What is close by coming or going. The Paseo Arts District includes award winning Jefferson Park as well as Edgemere and Central Park neighborhoods.

Central Park is very special as it hosts 2 little known gems.... slip by and see their award winning urban garden, 31st and North Shartel and the Lovely Day Market which is also on Shartel, closer to 23rd street. Central Park has an entire urban farm, and they are taking volunteers and trainees all the time.

Paseo Arts District is flanked by Uptown OKC which is the Old Route 66. Slightly further South across 23rd are the grand historic gems of Heritage Hills and Mesta Park, both worth a drive, walk or bike through.

Recently, .@WheresAndrew from National Geographic came through OKC, tracing Route 66 on his way. He is forgiven for being a Texan. and is a decent contemporary guide to travels.

Prior proof of Paseo Arts Festival fun? Ok. slideshow for 2011 and slideshow for 2012
