Memorial Day weekend is the start of the summer party season. This year break out the bubbles for the party with Sauza Sparkling Margarita Watermelon.

Every festive party can benefit from a signature cocktail. The new Sauza Sparkling Margarita Watermelon can be served on the rocks or combined in a special cocktail for the party. The bubbles make the cocktail light and effervescent. It is a cocktail that can be paired with a great flank steak or even a juicy hamburger on a hot day.

The fun of the party comes in the details. This year amp up the festive with inspired presentation for your signature cocktail. Instead of just serving your cocktail in a traditional pitcher, why not serve up the Watermelon cocktail in a watermelon.

To make a watermelon punch bowl, use a sharp knife and carefully trim the bottom of a seedless watermelon to make it a flat surface. Next, cut off the top (about ¼ of the watermelon) and hollow out the flesh with a melon baller. Use an ice cream scoop or large spoon to scrape the inside walls of the watermelon clean. Fill with your favorite margarita recipe and enjoy. It is a simple, easy way to impress your guests. The pictures might become Pinterest-worthy.

Need the perfect Watermelon Margarita recipe? Here is a great one using Sauza Tequila.

  • 4 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
  • 2 parts JDK and Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, chilled and cut into pieces
  • ½ cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup ice

Freeze cubed watermelon in a plastic bag for a minimum of 2 hours. Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Serve in glasses rimmed with salt and garnish with a lime or watermelon wedge.

Another option for a watermelon flavored cocktail is to create watermelon ice cubes. To make watermelon ice cubes, cut a seedless watermelon into chunks roughly the size of ice cubes. Place in a single layer on a baking pan. Wrap the tray in plastic wrap and freeze overnight or for several hours until cubes are completely frozen. Pop a cube or two to add flavor and colorful fun to your favorite margarita.

Whether you enjoy bubbles with your watermelon margarita or prefer an extra fruity version, the summer time is a chance to relax with friends on a bright, sunny day.
