The Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs region of Upstate New York has over 20 parades planned in honor of Memorial Day and those who have served our country.  This is the third of a series of articles about Memorial Day Parades in 2010 in our area.

Greenwich, New York
Greenwich’s parade kicks off at 6pm on Friday May 28, 2010.  The event starts with a ceremony on the bridge over the Batten Kill to remember those brave soldiers who died at sea.  Then, the parade will progress up Main Street over to Abeel Avenue and will finish at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building.

Stillwater, New York
The Stillwater parade steps off at 6:30pm on Friday May 28, 2010.   It begins n Campbell Road and then goes up Hudson Avenue/Routes 4 & 32 and ending at the American Legion.  This year, Leo Barbolt who is a veteran of the World War II Navy was the distinction of being the grand marshal.

Maplewood area of Colonie, New York
The Maplewood Parade gets underway at 6:30pm the evening of Friday May 28, 2010.  The parade route will be south on Route 32 through Maplewood and into Colonie.  At the end of the parade there will be a ceremony at the Maplewood School.
