In 2014, Memorial Day will be celebrated on Monday, May 26. The holiday is considered to be the unofficial start of summer. Since many people have a three day weekend and schools are out, Walt Disney World in Florida will be busy. Arrive early to face the lightest crowds and the most comfortable temperatures. According to the Weather Channel, the high temperature will be in the mid-90's, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

The Magic Kingdom will kick off summer at 9:00am, and will stay open until midnight. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will take place at 3:00pm. Main Street Electrical Parade will run at 9:00pm and again at 11:00pm. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular will be held at 10:00pm.

On Memorial Day Epcot will open at 9:00am, with World Showcase opening two hours later. The park will remain open to the general public until 9:00pm. There will then be two Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will take place at 9:00pm.

Disney's Hollywood Studios will be open 9:00am-10:00pm on May 26. There will be two showings of Fantasmic!; one at 9:00pm and the other at 10:30pm.

On Memorial Day Disney's Animal Kingdom will start with an Extra Magic Hour at 7:00am. The park will open to the general public at 8:00am, and will remain open until 9:00pm. Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade will take place at 3:45pm.

Both Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will open at 9:00am. They will remain open until 7:00pm. The water parks get crowded on hot days and will sometimes reach capacity, so plan to arrive early.
