Although we may have finished our Thanksgiving turkey feasts, we still have more holiday meal events on the way. Traditionally, mealtime is a great way for family and friends to connect. Sometimes in the technological age we lose sight of how this time can bring us together. In films, mealtime can be a highlight of fun, disasters, and mixed emotions. Let us take a look at some memorable feast scenes.
In the film Summer Rental, Jack's (John Candy) family waits in line for two hours at a fancy seafood restaurant. Just when his family is next in line to be seated, a local celebrity, award winning, yachtsman strolls in and uses his clout to advance to the front of the line. His group is given the table that is meant for Jacks's family. He is annoyed to say the least, but when the yachtsman decides to take the last of the lobster, he loses his cool. (See clip)
Of course, we can all relate to be being devalued as a customer, but this takes it new heights. When we are hungry we all get a little cranky, but Jack does excellent job of telling off the yachtsman and the restaurant host. This is classically funny film with a great dinner scene.
