Memming for greenies: Getting access to an advanced navy mission

Today, Puzzle Pirates Examiner starts on a series of posts geared to help you memorize a whole lot of league points in an efficient and organized manner. If you share the aforementioned goal of "memming" your entire ocean, stay tuned. The advice you'll read here comes straight from your Examiner's personal experience in achieving 100% memorization of the Viridian Ocean just before it merged with Malachite to form the Meridian Ocean.

Your first stop on your way to world domination is the Navy. Every single island with a Palace will have a Navy that makes frequent two-way trips along each route, even interarch routes, with that island as an endpoint. Once you can access the "Navigate with the Navy" mission, you can take the helm on those jaunts and perform duty navigation. That means a chance to mem those league points without having to obtain charts or avoid battles.

But first you've got to gain access to the mission. "Navigate with the Navy" is one of the advanced Navy missions ("Gun with the Navy" and "Battle Brigands with the Navy" are the others). That means that before you can undertake it, you have to achieve certain benchmarks:

  • Broad experience in bilging
  • Broad experience in either rigging or sailing
  • Broad experience in either carpentry or patching
  • Broad experience in gunnery
  • A subscription or a pirate badge, depending on your ocean

You can achieve broad experience in all those puzzles via the basic navy missions, accessible from either your pirate radial menu (the buttons that appear when you click on your pirate) or the Notice Board.

So you should go ahead and get started on that, and we'll meet back here in a few days for the next step: Efficient use of the Navigating with the Navy mission to mem league points.
